Nie comes from a long lineage of diviners, a family of elves who have spent centuries practicing the art of divination. Whether serving kings or commoners, the Видовна (Vidovna) family always heeds the call, offering their insight to those who can afford it.
Nie never truly shone during her long years of study, which mostly consisted of philosophy, arts, and ancient languages. Her skin, already paler than most, grew even whiter as time went on.
Her older sister, Екатерина (Ekaterina), affectionately called Katyusha by Nie, was quite the opposite. She excelled in physical pursuits such as dancing, combat, and work that required energy and movement, far more efficiently than Nie ever could.
This, however, never created any tension between them; they both knew they were simply made differently. After all, Ekaterina had almost no talent for divination.
Personality-wise, Nie tended to be shy and reserved, especially compared to Ekaterina, who had no trouble speaking her mind and engaging with others. Yet Ekaterina’s main flaw was her irresponsibility; she was quick to join others in their causes, often creating trouble along the way, especially for the Vidovn family.
At some point, Ekaterina began to feel a mysterious call to action. Believing it might be her long-dormant divination powers awakening, she decided to set out alone on an adventure.
The first forty years were uneventful. Each year, the Vidovn would receive a letter from Ekaterina detailing her travels, small deeds of kindness and stories of helping those in need across various towns in the kingdom. Then, one year, the letters stopped.
The family thought it was just a missing letter so they didn't gave it that much importance at the beginning, as the time went on, they grew worried, even though they felt she was still connected to this world, Ekaterina could be in danger.
10 years had passed since Ekaterina's last letter, when Nie had a terrifying vision, one of death and destruction coming to them, so vivid it compelled her to flee the city with her parents in a rush.
When things finally settled, the family decided to embark on a pilgrimage across different cities, searching for any trace or news of Ekaterina.
It was 300 years into this journey that Nie met A.R.T., an automaton she believed could be key to finding her sister.
Though her parents wanted to continue their pilgrimage as a group, Nie started to realize that A.R.T. was loyal to her and that their combined skills could serve a greater purpose across the kingdom.
Struck in the heart, as this was the first time leaving her parents' side, Nie parted ways with them, choosing to continue her travels alongside A.R.T.
Now, Nie finds herself in Dalanis, within the Adventurers’ Guild.
